Small-Group Advanced Seminar in

Interpretation of the HRB

Comprehensive Clinical Interpretation of Adult Cases

August 27 – 29, 2008

Dallas, TX

This small-group advanced seminar will emphasize the comprehensive clinical interpretation of adult cases using the Halstead-Reitan Neuropsychological Test Battery.  There will be an emphasis on the correlation of neuropsychological test results with behavioral/clinical symptoms, presenting complaints, history, and neurological disorder.

Each case will be explored systematically through a process of test interpretation, integration of clinical history and neurological findings, differential diagnosis, and determination of educational, treatment or rehabilitation needs.

Registration will be limited to 10 attendees, and all attendees must have previously completed a workshop from the Reitan Neuropsychology Labs or The Neuropsychology Center and be knowledgeable about data plotting (as taught in the Administration/Interpretation seminar). By limiting enrollment to participants with this level of experience, we expect to be able to offer intensive, advanced training. There is opportunity for direct interaction between the instructors and participants.  Participants will be able to test out their diagnostic skills by formulating the cases provided and presenting their conceptualizations to their fellow participants as in a case conference.

ACTIVE participation is expected of all attendees!

Learning Objectives:

Participants in this seminar can expect to improve their ability to recognize important patterns in neuropsychological test results, to integrate presenting complaints and history with neuropsychological test results, and to understand implications of various test patterns for patients' daily and occupational functioning. They can expect to improve their understanding of the process of integrated neuropsychological interpretation using the HRB.
